Mentorship Opportunities Help to Shape the Future of our Students

This Colorado Gives Day season, we’re proud to share one story of how mentorship opportunities help to shape the futures of our students.

Jesser is a first-generation high school student with the dream of becoming a software engineer. He’s passionate, driven, and eager to learn—but the path to his future isn’t always clear. That’s where his Academic Mentor, Tom, enters the picture. A longtime mentor and software engineer who embodies kindness and patience, Tom is introducing Jesser to the world of coding through web design.

Together, Tom and Jesser have taken on a special project: creating a website for Jesser’s mother’s painting business. It’s a way for him to apply his new skills—and also a touching surprise for his mom, who has no idea that her son is working to build her a website from the ground up.

This is the kind of impact your donations makes possible. Thanks to mentors like Tom, students like Jesser are not just learning how to code, but how to dream big and believe in their own potential. Your generosity helps provide these life-changing opportunities.

To help support mentorships like this one, please donated during the Colorado Gives Day campaign.
