Keeping the Rhythm Alive

If you hear the rhythm of African drumming at a Community Resources, Inc. (CRI) event, it is, no doubt, the sound of a Djembe under the masterful hands of Bob Hall. Bob has been a presenter with CRI for over 20 years. Whether it be teaching the patterns of rhythm to students at an Art Day or performing at a Multicultural Family Night, Bob enthusiastically and expertly brings the story and beauty of African drumming to all.

Bob began drumming in 1978 with the Irepo Dance and Drum Troupe founded by Baba Adetunji Joda who is from Nigeria, West Africa. His journeys have taken him to Senegal, Guinea, and Ghana where he has studied with master drummers in their various traditions. Bob continues to study, teach, and perform with Chelle Gifford as the Kusogea Nobi Drum Ensemble in its 29th year.

Community Resources, Inc. is so grateful to Bob for our ongoing partnership and the resulting opportunity to share the message of the Djembe with the students and families of Denver Public Schools.
