Sue Edwards - Executive Director
Sue first became involved with Community Resources, Inc. in 1990 when she served as a member of the Board of Directors (1990-1996) as a parent representative, President of the Denver Association for Gifted/Talented and representative of Denver Council PTSA. Sue was called back into service in 2001, when she was asked to serve as president of the Board of Directors for that year. Sue was hired as Executive Director of CRI in June 2004
Prior to joining Community Resources, Inc. Sue served as member of the Board of Education for Denver Public Schools (1995-2003) and as Board President (1996-1999). Her involvement with the students and community of DPS spans over 24 years of volunteer service. During that time Sue also partnered with her husband, Dave, in Edwards Claims & Management Services, administering claims against insurance companies in liquidation receivership.
Sue received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Laura Kent – Project Manager
Laura joined CRI in the fall of 2010 as the manager of the Academic Mentors Project. Laura was introduced to CRI through the Classroom Speakers Project when she engaged community volunteers in Carson Elementary’s in-school electives program. Prior to working for CRI, Laura was an active volunteer at her children’s school and in the community and was an assistant teacher at Montview Community Preschool and Kindergarten. Her professional background includes volunteer and program management for the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia and hotel management. Laura received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Debbie Turner - Project Manager
Ms. Turner has worked for CRI since 1989. Her current responsibilities are to manage the Horizons- Family Involvement Project and the Special Events Project. Prior to working for CRI, Debbie volunteered as a classroom speaker. Her CRI tenure also includes having managed the Academic Mentors, Classroom Speakers and Horizons Projects.
Debbie has a teaching background and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mary Ann Mayo - Project Manager
Mary Ann has served CRI since 2000 and is the Program Manager for the Classroom Speakers Project.
Mary Ann holds an elementary education degree from the College of St Teresa, Winona, Minnesota. She taught in Denver Public Schools and the parochial sector.
